Our family mediators are accredited by the Family Mediation Council and are members of the College of Mediators or Family Mediators Association. Our commercial mediators have completed relevant accreditation from recognized training providers and are members of the Civil Mediation Council.
If you plan to apply to the court, you must first explore mediation as an option. A mediator will need to sign the appropriate court form to confirm your attendance. Please note that these forms are valid for only 4 months from the date of issue. Applications made after this period will require a new assessment meeting and form.
You can mediate without legal representation saving you a considerable amount of time and money. Mediation is not a legal process, it is completely confidential and anything that is discussed in mediation is done so without legal prejudice. This means it cannot be later used in court.
Although legal representation is not necessary, mediation is part of the court process and it is sometimes advisable for the parties to appoint a solicitor to help with proceedings. We work closely with the legal profession and can provide you with details of local solicitors if required.
No. We offer our clients who claim Universal Credit a discount. This avoids them completing complex applications forms which save clients time. Currently we offer Government Vouchers which we claim on clients behalf to the value of £500 towards the cost of the mediation. This only applies to cases that involve children
From January 2022 the Mediators of Essex Mediation Online , who have worked together for over 20 years, wanted to offer all their future services through remote meeting providers such as Zoom and allow London clients to book and pay for mediation appointments online , reducing administration. This allows the mediators to continue to provide mediation at reasonable fees and to offer a hands on service. Bookings and payments are made at www.Essexmediationonline.co.uk using the Wix reservation system. The mediations are fully responsible for their own cases. Yes, children can participate in family mediation if both parties agree and it is deemed appropriate by the mediator. Involving children can help ensure their voices are heard and their needs are considered in the decision-making process. The mediator will use child-inclusive mediation techniques to facilitate their involvement.
